Southwood is a poor community outside Charlottesville, Virginia facing the prospect of complete redevelopment by a large housing charity. The residents are wary of outside intervention, even if well-intentioned. Their houses may be modest, but they have made them home. This is an ongoing long-term project following a set of families who live in the neighborhood, with a particular focus on the children's experience.
